The Brief

Off-grid Starlink internet deployment for a 1,200-person outdoor expo — 300+ devices connected, payment terminals online, live streaming bandwidth maintained throughout.

The Challenge

Outdoor events at remote venues face a consistent challenge: reliable internet for payment terminals, exhibitor connectivity and live streaming, with no access to fixed infrastructure. For this 1,200-person outdoor expo, the organisers needed a deployment that could handle simultaneous payment transactions across 20+ terminals while maintaining stable bandwidth for a live stream.

Our Approach

We deployed a multi-dish Starlink configuration with a dedicated managed network — separating payment terminal traffic from general guest and exhibitor connectivity to guarantee priority bandwidth for transactions. A local mesh network provided Wi-Fi coverage across the entire site, with each zone independently monitored throughout the event.

What We Delivered

  • Multi-dish Starlink deployment for redundancy
  • Managed network with traffic prioritisation (payments vs general)
  • Site-wide Wi-Fi mesh coverage
  • 300+ device capacity, 20+ payment terminals
  • Live streaming bandwidth allocation (15Mbps sustained)
  • On-site monitoring and support throughout the event

The Outcome

All 300+ devices connected without issue. Payment terminals stayed online throughout — including during peak transaction periods — and the live stream maintained a consistent 15Mbps uplink for the 6-hour broadcast window. Zero connectivity incidents were logged across the full event day.
