The Brief

The platform that runs our own business: online hire bookings, a full operations CRM, fleet tracking, an installer field-service system and live-streaming pages — built end-to-end in Next.js. We don't just build software, we run on it.

The Challenge

Most web agencies show you a portfolio of brochure sites. We can show you the software that runs our entire business — because we designed, built and operate it ourselves. The site you're on, the hire store, the booking engine, the back-office CRM, the fleet tracker, the installer job system and the live-stream pages are all one custom platform, built in Next.js. It's the strongest proof we can offer: if we can build this for us, we can build it for you.

Our Approach

On the customer side it's a complete online hire store — a searchable catalogue of 300+ items, a real-time availability calendar, cart, automatic multi-day pricing and a quote-request flow. Customers sign in without a password, see their booking history, save delivery addresses and rebook in a couple of taps. Every quote, email and invoice is branded and sent automatically.

Behind the scenes is a full operations CRM that replaces a stack of separate subscriptions: leads, quotes, invoicing (with Xero sync), customers and crew in one place. There's a fleet module with GPS trip logging, fuel economy and maintenance; an equipment asset register that tracks ROI on every item we own; branded live-streaming watch pages with access control and live viewer tracking; and automated quote follow-ups and reminders that send themselves. The whole thing is a Progressive Web App, so it installs like a native app and keeps working offline.

The standout — and a product in its own right — is the installer / field-service module. It runs an install job from quote to handover: bill of materials, pack lists, labour and time tracking, a commissioning checklist that must pass before a job can be marked complete, digital sign-offs with on-screen signature capture, versioned document storage and a site-survey checklist so nothing is forgotten on site. Critically, it works fully offline — the crew can pull up everything and capture data in a dead-spot with no signal, then it syncs when they're back online. This module alone is a complete platform we can white-label and tailor for any AV, electrical, solar, security or IT installer.

The Outcome

It's all wired for growth, too — technical SEO, structured data and conversion tracking (GA4, Google Ads and Meta) are built in, not bolted on. Explore it live at onpointstudios.com.au/hire, then imagine it built around your business.

We run our own business on the software we build — every booking, invoice, install and vehicle goes through it.
