What it costs to hire the Starlink Event Internet

Managed Starlink satellite internet for events, configured for live streaming, EFTPOS, registration and crew Wi-Fi. Unlimited data included — no allowance and no excess data charges. Delivery and on-site setup charged separately. Minimum 3-day hire; bonded 4G/5G backup available. The Starlink Event Internet hires at $150 per day including GST, with a 3-day minimum covering bump-in, the event and bump-out. Multi-day rates are applied automatically rather than negotiated: 3 days is $450, 4 days is $510, and a week is $893. You do not need a code or a phone call to get that; the rate drops as soon as you set your dates.

Multiples can go out on the same booking where the dates allow, so tell us how many you need and we will confirm against the calendar rather than guess.

What comes with the Starlink Event Internet

Every Starlink Event Internet hire includes Starlink Gen 2 (Standard) dish, wi-Fi router, cabling & power and ground / tripod mount. That is what our crew brings and installs on the day. Everything is checked and tested between hires.

Event networking only gets noticed when it drops out, which is why the fibre, switching and redundancy get planned long before the show does. If something on this page is not quite the right fit, say what you are actually trying to do and we will tell you honestly whether this is the item for it, or whether something else in the networking & fibre range does the job better.

Which Starlink do you need?

This is the managed one. Our crew bring the larger Standard dish to your venue, position and align it, set up Wi-Fi access points across the space and keep an eye on the connection while your event runs. You never touch the hardware.

If you only need a connection for yourself and a laptop or two, the Starlink Mini is cheaper and you can collect it the same day.

Both run on unlimited data with no allowance to watch and no excess charges, and both need the one thing satellite internet always needs: an unobstructed view of the sky.

Pickup, delivery and setup

The Starlink Event Internet is delivered, set up and tested by our crew, then collected again afterwards. Pickup is not offered for this item, so delivery is quoted with the hire rather than added later — tell us the venue and the access, and setup and packdown are priced into the same quote. We run deliveries across the Gold Coast and out through Brisbane, Tweed Heads, Byron Bay and the Sunshine Coast.

An operator can be supplied with the Starlink Event Internet if you would rather not run it yourself. That is worth considering for a live event, where there is no second take and nobody has time to learn the gear on the day.

Common questions

How is this different from hiring the Starlink Mini?

The Mini is a self-serve kit you collect or we post to you, and you set it up yourself. This is the managed version: the larger Standard dish, delivered and set up by our crew, aligned, configured with proper Wi-Fi access points for the space, and monitored while your event runs. If you need internet to simply be there and work in front of a paying audience, this is the one.

What speeds can I expect?

Typically 100–250 Mbps down and 15–30 Mbps up — enough for multi-camera live streaming, video conferencing, ticketing, EFTPOS and attendee Wi-Fi at the same time. We set quality-of-service rules so your stream keeps its bandwidth no matter what the crowd is doing.

How many people can use it at once?

One kit comfortably serves 20–50 users. Beyond that we add access points across the site and, for larger or mission-critical events, a bonded 4G/5G connection alongside it so a single failure cannot take the event offline.

Why is there a three-day minimum?

Because an event is never only the event. The three days cover bump-in, show day and bump-out, which is when the connection actually has to be live — the crew setting up need it as much as your guests do.

What do you need from my venue?

A spot with a clear view of the sky for the dish, and power. We check satellite visibility for the address before the day and tell you where the dish needs to sit — a roof, a car park corner or a patch of open ground is usually all it takes.

How much does it cost to hire the Starlink Event Internet?

$150 per day including GST. Longer hires cost less per day — 3 days is $450 and a week is $893 — and the rate drops automatically when you choose your dates, so there is nothing to ask for.

Can I pick up the Starlink Event Internet myself?

Not this item — the Starlink Event Internet is delivered, set up and tested by our crew, then collected afterwards. Delivery and setup are quoted with the hire.

How long can I hire the Starlink Event Internet for?

From 3 days upward, which is the minimum covering bump-in, the event and bump-out. Hire days are 24-hour periods, and the per-day rate falls with the length of the booking, down to 15% off the daily rate from four days on.

Can you supply an operator with the Starlink Event Internet?

Yes. We can supply a technician to run it, which is worth doing on a live event where there is no opportunity for a second take. Ask for it with your quote and we will price the crew alongside the gear.
